With the launch of Bahamut, Castle Age introduced the concept of of "class" to monster battles. It has since been expanded with two more player classes and you can now "level up" your classes as you use them in battle.
When you enter a battle with one of these major monsters, you must choose one of the classes to use in that particular battle. During the battle, one player class will be considered "active". This will change over time, specifically at 4- and 8-hour increments. While active, that class either receives a bonus or has a task to perform, using an action that takes Energy. All classes can strike the monster with an attack using Stamina.
These are some of the first examples of battles use Classes:
Bahamut - Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Cleric
Azriel - Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Cleric
War of the Red Plains - Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Cleric
Alpha Bahamut - Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Cleric, Warlock, Ranger
Alpha Mephistopheles - Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Cleric, Warlock, Ranger
Gehenna - Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Cleric, Warlock, Ranger
Lion's Rebellion - Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Cleric, Warlock, Ranger
Classes, their abilities, and their active event:
When you successfully complete a battle with a particular class, your activity points are added to the "level points" of that class. Gaining sufficient points in a particular class levels that class up, providing bonus attack when using that class. The current maximum level is 4.
